Gel-X is a soft gel extension system that uses pre-shaped, full-coverage nail tips made from a flexible gel material. Each tip is sized precisely to your natural nail, then bonded directly onto the nail plate using a gel adhesive and cured under an LED lamp.
The result is an extension that feels light and flexible — not rigid like acrylic — and looks completely natural in shape and finish. Gel colour or nail art can be applied directly on top, so you leave with both the length and the design you want, all in one appointment.
Acrylics have been the industry standard for decades, but they come with trade-offs: a strong chemical smell during application, a rigid feel on the nail, and a removal process that requires heavy filing, often thinning the natural nail in the process.
Gel-X works completely differently:
Hard gel extensions are another popular option — they use a brush-on gel that is sculpted directly onto the nail or over a form. They're very durable, but require skill to shape well and must be filed off rather than soaked, which means some natural nail thinning over time.
Gel-X sits in between: easier and faster to apply than hard gel, more durable than regular gel polish, and gentler on the natural nail than both acrylics and hard gel.

With proper care, Gel-X extensions typically last 3 to 4 weeks before showing visible regrowth at the base. At that point, you have two options:

💡 Nail health tip: Gel-X extensions require a healthy natural nail to bond to. If your nails are very thin or damaged, we may recommend a BIAB treatment first to strengthen them before moving to extensions.
Gel-X tips come in a range of shapes — square, round, oval, almond and coffin — and in multiple lengths from short to extra long. During your appointment, your technician will help you choose the shape and length that best suits your hand shape and lifestyle. For a first set, we often recommend a medium length and almond or oval shape — it's universally flattering and easier to get used to if extensions are new to you.

Our Gel-X service takes approximately 1 hour 10 minutes and is performed by our experienced nail technicians. The appointment includes nail prep and sizing, full tip application, gel colour of your choice, and top coat.
